Great Bear Golf & Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Northeast Pennsylvania in the town of Marshalls Creek.
Great Bear Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1997. The course is a Jack Nicklaus "Signature" course.
The course was draped across the side of a mountain and spread out over 460 picturesque acres. The design includes numerous mature trees lining the fairways, which are relatively flat. The greens are fast and challenging to read. There are no parallel holes on Great Bear, put there are 48 bunkers.
The signature hole is #7, a 158-yard, par 3, which features an elevated tee situated on top of a rock quarry. The hole requires a tee shot over a gully to a well-guarded, elevated green. The view looking back from the green is fantastic with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains, as well as the rock quarry that the tee box is perched upon.
